Summer Solstice Wine Tasting

"Temperance, like chastity, is its own punishment." Once again, thanks to all who attended our Summer Solstice event at the Bocce Ball courts in Alameda's Lincoln Park. Summary: great venue, great company, great wine. Though a numbering of our gathering spots don't work well for kids, this one did. Here's to all of the young mothers that were able join us this go 'round. For a bunch of primarily red wine fans, we managed to consume more bottles of white, rose & sparkling wine than ever before. Oreana "?" - Mystery red blend Four Vines "Peasant" - Rhone blend (Mourvedre/Syrah/Cunoise/Tannat) ...and four beers;-) Special thanks to Amy from the Hob Nob/Thirsty Bear for providing a bunch of tasty goat cheese tarts. I love tarts. Well done. And kudos to everyone else who brought savory offerings. Next up... who knows? If you have a suggestion for a venue or tasting theme, please let me or Justin know. We're currently courting a groovy little spot on Webster Street for an upcoming Monday night. Stay tuned... Meanwhile, here's to wishful drinking.
